Suddenly: Empty Inspiration!

I've been reading people's webcomics lately and geez does it make me want to get better! I haven't really looked much at other's stuff lately, and I really should! It's so inspiring! Everything really... from the page setups to their manga or the art entirely, the shades and tones they use, people's use of perspective and backgrounds; there's so much I can't do--not at that level anyway. It makes me want to beg them to teach me their secrets; but I know deep down I just have to practice.

Wah, I just feel like I don't have as much time to draw--or that if I drew instead of other things, I wouldn't get to talk to my friends as much... which already feels very limited having a job now. Mainly because---when I start drawing something, I'm usually very committed to it until completion (I have a bad tendency to never finish something if I DON'T finish it that day) and it makes me rather anti-social.

Still--I'd really like to do a webcomic of my own! (probably only saying this cause I'm hyped off inspiration... seeing as Untouched remains.... untouched.) But gaaah, I don't know. People are just really amazing!!

And on a random note: I HATE MY NAME ON dA!!! And I wish they'd have a thing where you could change it--even if it costs money, I would totally do it at this point. My only reason for NOT making another account: Really do not want to find and re-watch all the gazillionz of people I watch already. 8< I'd be really distraught if I missed out on artists' deviations.

Hey, so you're off prowling mode. Nice to hear from you again.

In some sort of way, it does make you feel inferior looking at the works of others. Especially the web comics. Makes you wonder just how were they able to pull it off.

But no worries! If you can't produce a whole webcomic because you're unsure of your skills and time, doodling always helped! I mean, you can doodle during your breaks or in those hours after work where you're at home lounging or something. Though I think a little initiative would be in order if you keep getting distracted by something else.

Manga artists don't necessarily start off with an idea already in their heads. They brainstorm, but instead of writing down words and stuff, they sketch. Sketch scenes, sketch people... expressions. Stuff like that. Whatever's at the forefront of their mind. Then they keep those things around like references when they finally feel like doing it.

I've been doing a bunch of those during those times I get bored or have nothing else to do (Writing can sometimes get boring.) It's really refreshing to know that I'm paying attention to my drawing impulses. And talking to your friends... well, if you socialize for at least half an hour or something with them, that's pretty much enough, right?

FAQ #56: How can I get more pageviews?

I can totally hear where you're coming from~ I find looking at other people's art the most "ZOMG i want to draw now. anything. I envy people who have a really good mind for composition. I have a hard time looking at a blank page and envisioning where everything should go.

I used to be a lot like that too - where if I didn't finish something in one sitting it wasn't likely to get finished. Lately I've been able to work on bigger projects more slowly... but I still like to finish things in a single sitting ^^;

If you do decide to do a webcomic - I wish you the best of luck!!

You have no idea how long I've wanted to try a /real/ doujinshi. D> (Or maybe you do XD ). I feel so hyped up with motivation when I look at awesome Japanese artists, then it all gets blown away when I realize I still have all the simple problems to worry about, like anatomy or backgrounds.

I've actually hand-drawn a manga of one of my original stories, but it was from high school, so it really sucks compared to now. XDD I only got two chapters in it. Even now, I have lots of ideas for manga/comics/whatever but I feel like I need someone to help me in the right direction, basically a director, lol. It's hard to keep all the info straight by yourself.

Anyways, I have a program designed specifically for making manga. It comes with screentones, layouts for panels, the whole sha-bang. Just tell me if you're interested in it ever.

And I'd love to hear your story ideas as well~ Or if you need someone to help you shade/tone things after you draw all the lineart or whatever (since that will get things going faster). I'd be up for any position you'd need for assistance. - -b

You're like me~
Reading webcomics, reading manga, it's so much. It's enough to make anyone jump. The thought of creating your own characters, a plot, a place.

I'm working with one of my very best friends, but we have gotten like nowhere....well character design but that doesn't count 8D;;

Work hard, and keep working toward you goals

Ya, I have been wanting to do a webcomic myself, and it does make me feel a bit off when I see others', they are just so awesome TT3TT but if you wanted, I know some people do them in groups, like if you wanted someone to do backgrounds, they will do backgrounds, screen tones, all that jazz~! It would be just a collaboration type of work ya know? I have been thinking about doing something like that for a while now n.n;;;

lol I am the same exact way, if I dont finish a drawing in one sitting, I will never get it done Dx

If you ever make a webcomic, you have my full support!! ><
I tried drawing comics twice, and well, I phailed XD
But I don't think it quite matters, as long as you get what you're saying out to the readers, right?

And yeah, I wish they would have a change name fuction here too. If I had thought my name out more, well, you know.
